I want to recommend an experience to you. Last year I had the opportunity to not only participate in, but also experience streams of justice flowing out in Mission at the Creative World Arts and Justice Festival. If ever I experienced the promise that we shall dance upon injustice, it was in this environment. With appropriate joy and somber dignity, the issues of oppression where faced with the promises of the Kingdom of God. From the music, to the speakers, the community camping, to the integration of children, the Justice Festival invited everyone to taste and see that God is good, that we were not created to live in oppressive structures, but are created to experience a free flow of grace through the many faces of equality of gender, race, and socio-economics. The beauty and abundance of enough was lifted up. What I noticed most was that while there was clear declaration of what injustice is, the fire behind the declaration was love. I didn’t experience any anger. It was really lovely, just a wonderful communal environment.
This coming August I hope you will choose to come and participate in this beautiful dance upon injustice. Without you, there is no us. Just(us) requires us and invites all of us.
Check out the Creative World Justice Festival website at www.creativeworldfestival.org. I hope you will come on out and join in this beautiful participatory festival (August 10-12).
